Situated at 8000 feet from the main sea level, this valley is located 125 kms away from Srinagar. Habba Khatun Mountain – This triangular shaped mountain, which has taken its name from one Kashmiri poetess namely Habba Khatun is the main attraction of this valley. It is believed that even today Habba Khatun is wandering in search of her husband here.
Gateway – People who come to Gurej valley also visit to see the gateway. It is also called the central part of the valley. Nestled in the lap of hills, this gateway resonates with the sound of flowing rivers. The lake of Gangabal here is also quite famous.
Harmukh Mountain – Located at 16,870 feet high from sea level, this mountain is a part of Himalayas. It is situated between Sindh and Kishanganga river. This site is considered sacred among Hindus as it is the abode of Lord Shiva.
How to reach Gurej Valley
Gurej valley in the Himalayas is located at a distance of 86 kms from Bandipura and 125 kms from Srinagar. You can take either bus or car from Srinagar to reach Gurej valley. The nearest airport and railway station are also in Srinagar. The most accurate time for coming here is between the months of May to October.
